He led his company on a recon mission and defeated a whole german battalion when his company got into a firefight. It only the secons battle the Latvians had fought and the victory was a huge morale boost for the demorolised russian units in the Riga front.

Imperial russians betrayed us as well during ww1.

There was a battle where a Latvian battalion had to take a german encampment which had a lot of machinegun nests. It wouldve been a piece of cake if the russians had artied them to dust, but they refused to fire a single shell and threated the Latvian colonel with executions if he didnt attack. That battlaion lost almost 60% of its men just because the russian generals were inexperienced cunts.

Its not nice to fuck us over even when we're the only ones killing germans and making advancements on the whole Riga front
