If the Greeks saw Prometheus as the one who brought life to mankind why didn't they worship him instead of Zeus.

Because Zeus kicked his ass for doing so.

The same reason Christians don't worship Satan for bringing knowledge to mankind.
Worship itself is an act of subservience to a higher power, which means valuing said power above one's own self and advancement.

Because Zeus would ask Poseidon to flood the world and wipe out ungrateful humanity *again*. Havent you read Bullfinch's Mythology
The age at which you start asking that question is the age at which your elders respect you.
Might makes right, good buddy.

No one wanted to be chained to a mountain and have their liver perpetually devoured.

>cant even protect your divine fire
dont seem so mighty to me, god cuck

Because zeus is a god of men, a god of the mind/psyche. He was more relevant to peoples lives then the guy who happened to bring life ages ago but hasnt been heard from since.

because the story is based on giving metallurgy to strong hunter gatherers who then kill your tribe

There are in fact hymns to Prometheus, and to others of the Titans too. He wasn't widely worshiped because, quite simply, he wasn't a god. As such, worship benefited neither him nor the worshiper, any more than worshiping a human or a rock would be of any benefit.
>Pausanias, Description of Greece 1. 30. 2 (trans. Jones) (Greek travelogue C2nd A.D.) :
>"In the Akademia [the Academy outside Athens] is an altar to Prometheus, and from it they run to the city carrying burning torches. The contest is while running to keep the torch still alight; if the torch of the first runner goes out, he has no longer any claim to victory, but the second runner has. If his torch also goes out, then the third man is the victor. If all the torches go out, no one is left to be the winner."
