Why does Ancient Greece seem like such a comfy time period?

it was an advanced civilization in a simpler time period.
Because you could butt blast little slave boys
Because you have autism.

It really wasn't, not everyone was Athens tier, not everyone was also a citizens, and the city states got into frequent wars with one another.

So? You have no way of knowing what they felt back then. They were Greeks, they probably loved war.
because centuries of idealization has made it seem so
because you imagine yourself as a citizen not designated boypussy

Because, in many ways, it was. People were getting more prosperous.

Because you always imagine yourself as a rich land owning man rather than the other 90% of the population.

It sounds boring as fuck to me.
I would rather have rome or the ottoman empire.

This.
>your city runs afoul a larger city
>gets conquered
>you get enslaved
Many such cases! Hardly comfy.
Middle Ages was comfier for common people. Yes, there wasn't anything like the Colossus of Rhodes and the Library of Alexandria around, but at least you had a degree of humanity, the Church more or less protected you, and you weren't enslaved if your faction lost a war (unless you lived in Eastern Europe, of course).
