Freudian psychoanalysis was about uncovering the childhood traumas that underlie aberrant adult behavior. Modern shrinks don't take such a "simplistic" approach and most modern psychotherapists don't take a Freudian approach.

It used to be. Psychology hasn't taken psychoanalysis seriously for decades.

CBT is a related concept, and you can still find psychotherapists if you look, granted I don't think they're very effective.
