I'm not fond of this advice, only for the fact that putting yourself in tough situations and enduring them teaches an emotional weight that cannot be replicated by books.

Suffer the stupidity of yourself and the stupidity of man. Which means try something hard and either succeed or fail. If you succeed, great. If you fail, you'll have a painful tuition but come out stronger for it.

Being through the military and being through homelessness taught me things I would never discover in a million books. You must suffer the world of Maya if you are to have power over it.
