I follow the American History Museum and ALL their coverage of WW1 a few days ago for the 100 year anniversary was "OMG WOMEN WERE NURSES LOOK AT THESE NURSES A WOMAN DID THIS AS WELL!" with no mention of, you know, the young men who were sent to actually fight in that hell scape on earth
