Nearly everyone in North Africa before the 20th century was a Berber, Beduin or Arab and there were lots of cultures there. Their civilizations weren't as massive as Egypt because no Nile.

If you see blacks in countries like Lybia and Algeria nowadays it is because the European Union pays them to take sub-Saharan immigrants.
