why were they all super autistic?

Deliberate obscurantism.
>>
the french like to fetishize their intellectual culture
>>
Is this bait? It's not the first time I see a thread about the "weirdness" of french philosophy with a photo of this guy, that isn't french by the way

>Not ethnically French

What did he mean by this?

French scientist/mathematicians were very good, so French philosophers couldn't LARP as them. They had to go their own way.

On the other hand, an Anglo philosopher could easily pass as an Anglo scientist just by changing his vocabulary.

the french language is overly decorative, its thinkers are great but the language is too convoluted.

When the goal is to obscure meaning though, french is perfect.

Now on the content of Derrida, his work is all about interpretation and its achievement is how it can be read differently not just by different readers but in different sittings by the same reader.

His work is intentionally anti-intellectual and his most fervent critics are merely those too attached to intellectual endeavour (to the point of betraying their subject matter).

Derrida is actually the simplest philosopher to understand, but an amateur would ignore his simplicity, because they dont trust themselves, they dont trust the world.

Derrida's work will never lead to discoveries that will help man. But his work does help man much more than any of those discoveries ever could.
