Art thread?
I'm no art man, but I could spend days in an art museum. Crystal Bridges is fine but famous historical american artwork just doesn't do it for me like fine European pieces. The Chicago Art Museum is one of my favorites, I think it's better than the Louve, mostly because of convenience.
this is now an aeropittura thread

Enough.
Go back to classical art please.
Saw the David Hockney exhibition at the NGV recently. Thought I'd hate the iphone and pad images, but I ended up a big fan. Moreso the UK ones presented, compared to the Yosemite drawings, I think the light must have been better.

it showed horrors of war, nazi's idolized war.
>>2656649
His view of war didn't share the Nazi's idealistic take on it. The nazis were also against any form of artistic experimentation, and since he was known in part for his dadaist pieces, he was on their artistic shitlist.
>>2657961
What's there to ruin? Hardly anyone dumping has offered any commentary to engemder discission at all, not even putting the artist on the comments when they are reuploading straight from 4chan.
I hope everyone here as looked at the garden of earthly delights in 30,000x17,078

I went offroading recently in death valley national park and drove through on the riverbed of a canyon just like that. Why is the west so beautiful?

Wished people would post the title and backstory in these kind of threads
>After Alfonso I of Aragon died in 1134, his brother Ramiro, bishop of Roda, inherited the Kingdom of Aragón
>Ramiro II became so concerned about his nobles abusing his patience that he sent a herald to the Abbey of Saint-Pons-de-Thomières to ask for advice from his former master.
>The herald was shown the abbey garden where the old monk removed the heads from roses that stood out from the rest. The herald is then told to tell the king what he has seen.
>After the heralds return, Ramiro II sent a message to the chief noble, saying that he wanted help in order to build a bell that could be heard all over Aragón.
>As the nobles arrived, the king cut off their heads, building a circle with the heads, with the chief noble's head suspended as the bell clapper.

The struggle is real
Oh look, it's the thread to post paintings of 19th century people larping historical events in the same boring realism style again

I like how those doors won't span the doorway when closed
>>2659454
you're right, the perspective of the left door at least is a bit off.

>Commies killed this
It's not fair
>>2659720
At least they did one thing right.
>>2659720
You're right. I would've liked to do it myself.
>>2659720
Pretty much any leader who got killed by commies deserved it. Commies only got into power in countries which had been run into the ground by their previous owners.
