Answering OP, I don't think anyone would object to the principle itself, but since it is associated with libertarianism, this triggers emotional responses from people that don't like libertarianism, even thought they would be fine with it if you gave it another time and explained it with different words. This is because we live in a time when people can't separate reason from emotion.
