I don't have children myself, and I'm pretty okay with my life overall, but I'd say 90% of all people who whine about having empty boring unfulfilled lives are doing it because they don't have kids and a family to provide for. Search your feelings you know it to be true. Reproducing adds an arc to your life and a form of closure I think. A man who dies in his late 70s childless essentially spent the entirety of his life in a never-ending unchanging malaise.
