If youre hobby is engineering than by all means go for it.
On the other means if you get a degree in something you are not mentally attracted to just for the stability or pay, youre going to probably be a wage cuck.

Cambridge is the best hands down.
I've got an offer to study at no.2 on that list next academic year. The faculty is absolutely amazing as you would expect, with the finest academic historians in the world. There's plenty of QT historians on the course also (roughly 50/50 M/F).
If you can go to any of the top five, jump at the opportunity.
