>Why did the concept of an "Open Society" fail so miserably
For most people, it didn't.

Please, mention a single society that is becoming more open according to the ideas espoused by Karl Popper, George Soros and other social liberals.
India: governed by the BJP, which is a Hindu nationalist party.
Africa: most countries are governed by conservative parties that perpetuate themselves in power by claiming that they are shielding their countries from the "evil" western influence (especially homosexuality).
-United States. Donald Trump
-UK: Brexit
-The Netherlands: Geert Wilders
-France: Le Pen
-Sweden: Sweden Democrats
-Austria: the Party of Freedom is more popular than ever
-Switzerland: the Swiss People's Party is more popular than ever.
-The Arab World: Islamism
-Philippines: Rodrigo Duterte
There are some exceptions to this global trend, like Indonesia, Germany, China, Myanmar... But these are only exceptions.
every clannish tribal mafia is legalized and imported into white countries to replace whites and banning white tribalism

Because there is no loyalty to "The Human Race". Or it's most people's last loyalty. I will sooner help, and care for, those genetically, culturally, and geographically closer to me than anyone else. This starts with my immediate family, and expands outwards from there. It's the same for most people.
Only rich, insulated fuckers think otherwise because they've never faced financial precarity, or questioned if their kin will survive or for how long.
