Aristotle's life was well recorded by later greek historians as well.

He also had his own school and many famous students like Theophrastus "the father of botany".

Hell, more recently even his tomb has been found.

Aristotle was a student of Plato's Academy, not necessarily a pupil like someone like Antisthenes was to Socrates.

Speaking of, Plato may have fundamentally misunderstood Socrates, since Socrates seems more like a proto-Cynic than a Proto-Platonist from everything else.
