What about this
1 John von Neumann
2 Srinivasa Ramanujan
3 Isaac Newton
4 Carl Gauss
5 Leonhard Euler
6 Archimedes
7 Nikola Tesla
8 Platon
9 Immanuel Kant
10 Aristotle
11 Gottfried Leibniz
12 James Maxwell
13 Johann Goethe
14 Leonhardo da Vinci
15 Alexandre Grothendieck
WHERE'S RICHARD DAWKINS XD
>Aristotle
>>2603188
what is wrong with him?
>>2603250
He's just too famous. I mean, all of those guys are famous, but Aristotle especially, which means he's a pleb tier normie answer and doesn't belong on the list.
Similarly, although Tesla isn't quite as well-known, reddit loves him, which means he's automatically disqualified and you need to gtfo back to plebbit.
Reeeeeeeeee.
>>2603250
His understanding of chemistry and physics for one

>I only want irrelevant smart people on my list
Gotcha senpai
>>2603384
You ... do realize that post was sarcastic, yes?
>>2603401
>he doesn't know any irrelevant smart people
brainlet detected
>No Wittgenstein
Come on senpai
>>2603489
sorry it was already full
Intelligence compared to their contemporaries or just intelligent? In accordance to the first; whoever discovered math, invented the spoken/written language and the first creature that formed a cognitive thought are by far the most intelligent people that have ever existed.
Just the thought that some /thing/ went from memory/instinct-bevahiour akin to that in animals to being able to perceive and understand in just the spurr of a moment is scary.
>>2603538
Probably because that's not even close to how it happened. Obviously. Those things developed over time, there wasn't one dude who invented any of them.
>>2603596
Some_one_ must have had the original idea and it was from there it all sprung to life, so to speak.
And I am overly convinced that that is how sentience began for there can hardly be anything between sentience and non-sentience.
>>2603165
who's von Neumann, Platon (Plato?), Johann Goethe...
>>2603165
No Terence Tao?
Might just be a bias as a musician, but I think Bach deserves a place.
>best organist in the world his lifetime
>gigantic body of work
>mastered every baroque genre
>wrote by far the most harmonically complex music ever written
>to impress people, would improvise fugues, and if he liked them, would write them down later because he remembered everything he did
>>2603874
That is autism not intelligence
>>2603874
Mozart is said to have had a better ear and was able to write down entire symphonies just from hearing them once. That's pretty fucking incredible if it's true. I tried my hand at writing classical and to transpose like an hour of music from memory after hearing it only once is some insanely genius-level memory.
That being said I don't think many would disagree that Bach had more impressive music, but in a discussion of intelligence you have to mention Mozart for his crazy musical ear from a very young age.
>>2604278
Eidetic memory isn't a particular sign of intelligence
>>2603165
>Platon
Nothing of what he said is smart
>Goethe
Go fuck yourself
>Da Vinci
Smart but overrated
Replace Plato with Euclides and Goethe with Euler and we might have a deal
>>2603165
Not meming but why would you say Kant is one of the smartest people who ever lived?
> no Herschel
>>2604575
Euler's here
where's Wittgenstein?
>>2604561
writing consistent god-tier music is
>>2605261
this
>>2604575
>Goethe
He actually was one of the most highly respected scientists of his time
How about reading a fucking book for once?
Neumann may not have even made the von Neumann architecture,
>>2603165
Decent list. Not sure about Tesla, Platon, Kant, or Aristotle
>>2603165
I would add Riemann and Einstein.
>>2603165
>No John Green
>>2603165
Where is Leibniz
>no me
shit list
Poincare? Maxwell? Galileo? Avicenna?
Neumann János
unironically
>>2603165
>Plato is in the list
>Diogenes isn't
>>2607226
Maxwell is in there. Can't put everyone in
>>2607189
can't you fucking read
>>2603165
Replace Da Vinci with Al-Jazari.
