So these guys managed to have complete control over literally MILLIONS of people and yet entirely failed in the endeavour to emancipate the average individual?

I understand the argument you're going to make, central planning doesn't work etc. and I get that, central planning lacks the data that is inherent to the market through the laws of supply and demand but still, is there any way in which they could have achieved something noteworthy?

Don't you think it's at least interesting/fascinating that they managed to obtain such support from their people? How can we hope to achieve such a collective effort again without the disasters of dictators?

This said, a good commie is a dead commie. If I can legally kill a racoon or a mad dog, why can't I kill a communist? In a collective society where every member is but an animal in the farm, what is the real difference between a communist and a horse or a pig?
