Is the island of Ireland unified under a single Irish Nationalist regime?
No, but they got peace instead.
>>2589220
No, but don't worry: The Brexit gives them the opportunity for another round of terror.
>>2589220
I don't know much about the IRA; why do they claim they're undefeated?
>>2589264
because concession isn't necessarily defeat and it's pretty difficult to militarily defeat an insurgent force
Provisional IRA cucked themselves with peace talks and disarmament. Now there are two splintering factions that argue amongst themselves and are too weak to do anything.

it is, Mr 1/32nd. The IRA hasn't done shit since 1998 and they're effectively a useless rump now

>the irish republican army
>created to get an irish republic and freedom from the british
>today the majority of ireland is part of an independant state named the republic of ireland
Yes, Ulster's still a sticking point but the original goal of the ira to get an independant irish republic certainly succeded.

Re.

Compromise is the result of all peace treaties, the vast majority of ireland under a republic is better than ireland being put under the british thumb again, i don't like how ireland is divided up, but i'll take it over total british control and a crackdown on revolution.

If only we weren't a bunch of different tribes. I could imagine a comfy europe where both uk and ireland were the same caste of people living in harmony and alliance. The great empire of oceania
