Why do so many religious officials who speak on the topic of human evolution immediately assume/depict our ancestors as violent sharp-toothed monsters (basically chimps) even though they were probably the furthest thing from that idea?
Evolution is an unscientific myth.

Seems to rely solely on the premise of a worldwide conspiracy held by every non-creationist scientist in the field. I say non-creationist because many Christians also see this as bullshit.

Because thats what they were, pay close attention to how the most primitive race of humans blacks behave and you get an idea of how deranged and savage the original humans were, and the hominds that evolved into humans had less impulse regulation than humans making them even more feral and psychotic. Africa was probably a blood bath back in the early Paleolithic era where the walking apes butchered eachother for sport.

No it doesn't.

The majority of the hominin fossils from the pliocene show no signs of butchering or blunt-force trauma. Instead, they show marks consistent with those of animal attacks (eagles, big cats, etc.)

Considering some of the sites it links to and concepts it covers, one could come to that conclusion.

Because it's propaganda
If you want to convert people or try to make them agree to you, you won't use reason, you'll use emotion, because emotions affect our behavior and thinking more strongly than rationality
It's easier to use fear, guilt, disgust, etc. than to try to appeal to a sense of reason

Probably because popular media stopped doing the same thing only recently, not counting the Flintstones. Our outlook on neanderthals alone has changed drastically from what used to be normal.

why do these people keep bringing up "Darwin"? Yes, he was the one that got the ball rolling but thats it. We're now way past his initial speculation.

They view him as a false prophet a la Joseph Smith.

We're not talking about homo erectus though, mainly australopithecus and early homo (habilis, rudolfensis, gautengensis, Ledi, etc.)
