Why do some people seem to feel so butthurt over the fall of Rome?
While they romanticise a Rome that hadn't existed for hundreds of years.
Just seems a bit daft.
Because this board is full of edgy Romaboos.
Rome was garbage. Nothing good ever comes from that satanic, antichrist place.

christianity came from rome
Maybe the fall of Rome was a mistake, but the fall of Tenohtichlan was a real tragedy.

Like anon said, nothing good.

Christianity came from Jerusalem.
The first Christians were ethnic Jews.
The first gentile Christians were people in Antioch.
Then Paul went to Asia minor.

>they romanticise a Rome that hadn't existed for hundreds of years.
because it hadn't existed in hundreds of years
if it was here in the present it would be shat on like any other state (see: China which was to the east what Rome was to the west).

The only "tragedy" was that they didn't wipe the Mesoamerican people from the face of the earth, preferring to use them until they're the mongrelized monsters they are today.

Because Western civilization is partly an interpretation of Greco-Roman culture.
If you're a /pol/tard who keeps appealing to the past and, like many, is of North European descent, Rome is all you have to be proud about in the ancient world. You wuz not the Ancient Egyptians, Persians, Assyrians or anything else. Romans are the closest they can think to claim but even then they wuz not the Romans anyway.
It's not as bad as being an African American afrocentrists but it's still pretty cringy and laughable. Western Romanboos will always double down on calling themselves Roman because it's all they have left.
