Was the First World War truly an unjust war?
I'm very new to The Great War, but it seems to me that the English defense of Belgium was perfectly warranted - but again I'm totally new to this.
>WWI started because of Belgium
You ARE new to this.

Makes me think of this nice and clever discussion about WW1 I once found in Youtibe comments
This is how normies view WW1

Yes it was. British involvement over Belgium was merely an excuse to get into the war, as it threatened to usurp the balance of power that was in their favor.
Overall, everyone had incredibly selfish reasons for getting in the war, and everyone had very selfish goals. America's probably the closest to a "good guy" you can get, but even then there was a lot of politicking around to brew up casus belli in 1917. In terms of war goals, America probably had the most benevolent goals as well, pushing Wilson's naively idealistic 14 Points.

but did they seek to protect, by power, an ethos which german domination would have meant the end of?
