Did Poles have to ally with superior Lithuanians to survive?

of course

No, there was nothing inevitable about it. Pooland could have survived without the superior Lithuanians, all they had to do was be better neighbours. Constant Polish aggression for centuries eroded all affection for them not only among their subjects, but among their peers (Moscow and Germany), it's this that doomed the Poles to oblivion, too bad they took the Lieuts with them.

Poland is literally the most innocent country to ever exist. Name ONE fucking war they started excluding that one they declared on Russia.

actually Lithuania needed this union to survive. In the middle of XVI century Lithuania faced constant invasions from Muscovy. Poles were smart enough to notice that an union would make Russian threat smaller for both countries.
Lithuanian noblemen protested at first because Polish law gave more freedom to peasants and more power to the ruler. Only anexation of eastern Ukraine made Lithuanians notice who is the real boss
By the way, modern Poland is the heir of both Commonwealth nations. Old Lithuanians during the Commonwealth adopted Polish culture and let themselves get polonised. That's why old Lithuanians, like Piłsudski identified themselves with Poland rather than modern Lithuania, whose nationality was created by Russian authorities in order to balance the number of ethnic groups in Wileńszczyzna

If you mean 1920, Poles made a prevention strike. Earlier this year they cracked Soviet codes telling about future plans for invasion on Poland. Poles striked before Bolsheviks could organise their army for a major invasion

>be lithuanian noble
>get bribed by Russians and cause Commonwelth to fall
>years later king is viewed as a pussy
Many such cases!
