At some point when the welfare state has sufficiently advanced slavery is going to become necessary to keep the wheels turning. As automation continues eventually the existing systems for funding the state will start to become obsolete and the government will start contracting out blocs of welfare recipients as a privatization scheme in order to more efficiently manage their finances.
