Why weren't the Jews given a homeland in Germany after WW2, instead of in Palestine?
I am aware of historic relationship to Israel/Palestine, but wouldn't it have been easier to carve out some territory out of occupied Germany?
A better question is why they didn't go to Guyana or Uganda. The answer is Zionism.

I think it was unrealistic the idea of the Jews going to Africa, especially those places as they had no connection or historical ties.
Europe would have been better in my opinion, that's where these Jews were from.

Plenty of Jews had already gone into the new world. They were more welcomed and even desired to go their.
Actual Jewish homeland ideas included Guyana and parts of Uganda. Considering both these were parts of the British Empire they made alot of sense.

>giving Sorb land to Jews
Why tho? Why give Jews any land in Europe at all, considering for most of European history after the early modern period it was a place of emigration not immigration.

Because Palestine was decided upon before ww2 broke out, as part of the balfour declaration.
