Yes the T-34 was a bit cheaper but America had the industry to make up the difference. The Shermans were better armoured, had better ergonomics, and later models had improved safety features like wet ammo. Not to mention optics being superior across the board. The American 75mm gun was superior to the original T-34 potato gun, and the 76mm gun was capable of penetrating anything the 85mm ZiS was. Suspension was superior and so was reliability. Legitimately what way was the T-34 superior? It was hobbled by the antique suspension it used.
