According to Britannica, the last possible hope for revival is before the emperors at Nicaea moved back to Constantinople. They should have focused on capturing much of Anatolia instead of being distracted by the now useless and ruined Constantinople

Well Nicaea was also contesting with Epirus and Bulgaria over who destroys the Latin Empire and gets Constantinople. Seeing though how the Constantinople was already laid to waste by then and the Mongols fucked over the Turks, it would be interesting to see if Nicaea expanded further into Anatolia instead and rehellenised the population.

In a lot of ways, you can see an eerie parallel between the Iberian Peninsula and Anatolia. Both had a major power suffer disaster in the 11th century (Caliphate of Cordoba collapsing, Manzikert and the civil war the followed). While one had a Christian reconquista, the other partly succeeded in reclaiming the western rim and all the coastal areas only to lose it after Manuel's death). Iberia fractured into the taifas while Anatolia became the squabbling beyliks.

However, it would take a LOT of money (so no recapture of Constantinople or involvement in the Sicilian Vespers), a well-trained army involving lots of mounted archers and heavy cavalry, and attracting immigrants/mercenaries to help fight and settle captured lands. Even then it's gonna take decades to deal with the Muslim Turks and what to do with them.

Because the armies of the Caliphate required huge amounts of supplies and their logistics chain was harried in Anatolia. Turkic marauders could sustain themselves on the central plateau because they're used to living in adverse conditions as shepherds. The central Anatolian plateau was ideal for herds and it resembled the Central Asian steppe so much that the Turkomans felt at home.

The Beyliks would probably unite if they were facing a determined Christian assault. It's really 50/50 whether or not the Greeks can recover all of Asia Minor. And even if they did conquer all the Beyliks, would they exterminate the Muslims? Treat them favorably to win them over? Expel them? Any of these choices are gonna be a bitter pill to swallow because by the mid-13th century, there's quite a few Turkics living there compared to Hellenics.

1. First and foremost, after 1300 or so the Byzantine empire never had western help. The 4th crusade understandably ruined East-West relations, and between various factors like the Black Plague and the Hundred Years War, no western European country was in a good position to help the Byzantines.

2. The Ottomans weren't "random marauders." They were some of the earliest pioneers of gunpowder tactics outside of the Orient. They would go on to conquer the Holy Land, most of North Africa, the Balkans, and most of the area around the Black Sea.
