The entire point of why men even exist is because they constitute an organism that can live without being tied down to the gestation of offspring. Of course men will have an advantage over women, they're defined in terms of that advantage.
Because once we reach puberty men can slap around 90% of women with ease.

Men have more upper body strength, so they can dominate a woman more easily than the other way around.

Reproduction is more of a burden on the woman than on a man, when a woman is pregnant she's more limited in the kind of work she can do, while the same isn't true of a man who has gotten a woman pregnant. This resulted in a division of labor - men would be the ones who go out hunting, while women stayed home to give birth and take care of the young children who were already born. And these two occupations had a different dynamic - hunting, especially of large animals, required teamwork and coordination, so usually one man ended up becoming the leader of a hunting party. This position evolved into leadership of the tribe as a whole, including the women. There was no real need for a single "leader" among the women, since raising a family was something that each mother could mostly do on their own. They might share advice on how to raise children, but it wasn't a situation where it made much sense to have one person commanding and ordering the others around.
