Haven't bathed in about ten days so I was wondering, what was hygiene like prior to say, the 1750s?
Did people stink all the time? Is bathing less efficient than showering? Is the whole "medieval people bathed once a month" thing true?
Tell me everythining you know about bathing

>Haven't bathed in about ten days
Why?
>>2564481
Because I work at home and i'm depressed.
All I wanna know is if people in history smelled like I do right now.

Take a fucking shower and clean your blankets
I was depressed too but even I still wanted to take a shower.
I haven't showered since Tuesday. I like not cleaning myself for a longer time and then eventually giving myself a nice long enjoyable bath, feels much more better and pleasant

6'2 skinny male. Im guessing since I don't sweat much, I wouldn't smell nearly as bad as peasants who had to work outside all day.

How often did they bathe again?

Doubtful. Most people in history have lived close to water, so it's not like it was hard to simply go for a bath in the lake or ocean.
Besides, bad smell are a warning when it comes to humans as much as when it comes to food.
People bathed as frequently as they could. When they couldn't, they'd do their best to mask the stench.

Not him but showers are the best when drunk/hung over.
Hygiene actually wasn't that bad until the industrial revolution made access to bodies of water less common.
Bathing once a week or more wouldn't have been abnormal
They bathed less frequently, but still regularly. It's not like people went out of their way to live in filth.
