No I don't think so. Bear in that was done in an era where there weren't any medications for the severely mentally ill and they spent the entirety of their lives shitting themselves in institutions. Honestly giving them a dignified death in a gas chamber was a very good thing to do.

I mean, its a slippery slope to devalue human life, soylent green is right around the corner, but I have to admit I see the practical considerations.
If I had to make that decision myself, as a dictator, I'd give it a long, hard think. Its not an obvious answer.
