What happened to all the people, especially the good ones, who lived and died before Christianity was around?

There are no such things as "good people" according to Christianity. ALL have fallen short of the glory of God, so ALL are sinners and equally worthless.

t. John Calvin
Let me help from a purely theological sense.
<SPOILER WARNINGS>
Jews have a direct lineage back to Noah. They are God's chosen people and had a covenant with God. Then the Romans came to test the Jews and they failed the test. No one was righteous among them.
So God sent his Son to take away the sins of the world. This creates the new covenant with humanity. Through following the teachings of Jesus any man or woman can be one of the Chosen people with a covenant from God.
Then, as the Christians became less righteous and more sinful God sent Mohammad apparently to really being the point home.
Heaven is only for God's chosen people, who live righteous lives in accordance with His will.

No, Calvin just took that part of mainstream reasoning and said that Grace, the antidote to sin (but provided by God, and thus not a measurement of personal worth), is pre-determined.
I'm not aware of any denomination of Christainity which doesn't ascribe to the logic of universal sin and universal damnation sans grace.

>the sins of the father are the sins of the sun
Is this why white guilt became so prominent? Is Christianity about to ruin Europe yet again?

None of this answers OP's question.
>believing jesus is the son of god and still believing mohammad is his prophet

Doesn't everyone currently living on Earth have a direct lineage back to Noah? Who else survived the Flood? How did they survive the Flood? This is never explained once in the Bible.
>>2543664
That's not exactly accurate.
Sin isn't passed directly, all humanity is born imperfect and prone to Sin. They are born out of grace with God.
But there are ways to receive God's grace and he has taken the time to send us pretty clear instructions.
That's the one thing you can't say about achieving Heaven. You can't say you didn't know the way.

Everyone alive today has a direct lineage back to Noah.
Read Dante.
Ancient good and wise people in general live the eternity in a comfy and quiet place that is not Heaven. They are not in hell but they will never see and contemplate God.
Even though it's not their fault, they lived before the came of Jesus and to accept Jesus is absolutely necessary to enter in Heaven.
For what concerns Moses Abraham and the other patriarchs/good people of the old testament, they are taken to Heaven with Jesus after the death on the cross.

They are bound by the old covenant. A better question would be; what happened to the people like pre-Colombian civilizations who lived and died after Christ but before being converted or hearing the Gospel?

>Read Dante.
Why? He wrote glorified fanfiction. the Divine Comedy's depiction of afterlife has more in common with Dharmic religions than with Christianity.
