It is fucking logical that he said it, that was a huge motivation boost for the soldiers. "Look even our leader wants to fight to the dead here in Moscow." But that doesn't mean that it would have been that way.

It would have been fucking stupid to not leave Moscow and die there, considering that the most factories were in Siberia. This would have only boosted the morale of the Germans.

Because Stalin could go fucking anywhere. He could literally go to the other side of Eurasia to the pacific, fill several ships with as many gold as he could and hide in fucking America and conduct Anti-German partisan operations and rebellious groups from there. The Americans would almost certainly agree to give him asylum, since a living Stalin would strengthen the morale of the partisans in occupied Russia.

But that's assuming that Germans managed to occupy the entirety of Russia, which is fucking laughable. Even if they got the Urals, which is also laughable they would have conquered only 30% of Russia.

Stalin literally had the entire world he could go to, Hitler had nothing, except maybe the Alps. He was fucking surrounded.
