The Anglo-Saxons defeated Harold Siggurdson's army at Stamford Bridge while losing a ton of their veteran troops and unfortunately lost in the last hour of Hastings, a battle which lasted all day despite only a fraction of the huscarls being present and the rest were fyrdsmen.
