How come a bunch of pizza-niggers managed to conquer Europe, Middle East and North Africa?
Jesus needed Rome to conquer the world, so Peter and Paul could use its roads, cities, and ports to spread Christianity with greater ease.

That's some next-level thinking right there. Good point.
>>2530069
Thanks, but you should praise Augustine. I merely repost his genius.
Because they actively gave away (semi-)citizenship rights to conquered peoples in Italy and integrated their elites so eventually they could tap to the largest manpower pool in the Mediterranean.
>>2530066
So then why didn't Rome conquer the whole world to make it even easier to spread the Word?
>>2530122
Europe and MENA was "the world"
Everything else was irrelevant.

>Absurd assumption that Christianity is true, that Jesus was the son of God who died on the cross for our sins.
>There is no evidence based or a priori argument to support this claim, it is just a huge fucking assumption
It is far more reasonable to say that Christianity spread rapidly because of the Roman Empire's infrastructure, rather than speculating that God made Rome great for the purpose of spreading Christianity.

What about Sub-Saharan Africa? The Americas? Australia?

Daily reminder that at this time China (an actual nation state at the time (earliest one)) had a huge standardized state bureaucracy, and vast infrastructure, that could have spread Christianity quicker than Rome could have.
Chinese script works in the way that each character symbolizes a word, meaning that even if you can't speak Chinese you can still read it. This would help enormously with spreading the religion.
China had woodblock printing before 200AD, which would obviously make mass producing bibles in the Archaic period much more easy.
It is arguable that if what Augistine proposed was true (it isn't), then God made a mistake in not picking China.

and the fact that God is benevolent shows us that Autistine's whole argument is a fucking shambles.

This. Few people have been so willing to absorb foreigners into their power structure and it brings the benefit of stability.
Combine that manpower pool with the Roman national character which was "total victory or bust" that allowed them to roll with the punches of men like Hannibal, and they were unstoppable. Most other nations they faced lacked the manpower, organization and sheer bloody-minded committment never to negotiate. You can't resist someone with an endless supply of troops who can never be brought to the negotiating table even if you murder a dozen of their armies wholesale.

Pizza didn't exist yet, and so too the subsequent Italian lethargy.
