Brezhnev Era was the only time in the history of Russia when living was decent for most people. It's quite unfair how it became know as an "age of stagnation".

oil prices crashed right after Brezhnev left. Which caused the Soviet economy to collapse and food lines to return.
Gorbachev(still alive amazingly), tried to do as China and reform the economy into state capitalism. Yet hard liners overthrew him. then they were overthrown, and another coup, and then Yeltsin.
