Maybe between the two wars there was some pride by Allied soldiers who had survived or at least a feeling of thank god we made it, but when a second world war that is even more devastating breaks out it kind of debunks much of what they fought for as the 'war to end all wars' turned out to be just a bigger war than usual. Cant really post much in terms of sources but the argument makes some sort of sense. Germany were more about the stab in the back we wuz kaisers deal regardless. The whole futility of it probably arose from WW2's happening as well.

Wow, full on revolution. I knew things were bad in Russia, but I didn't realize it would be that bad. At least the Czar abdicated and his family is safe. But without another Romanov taking the throne, what will happen with the war?
