Isn't the whole neo-liberal system designed specifically for investors, bankers and speculators? Apparently the USA taxes labor twice as much as it taxes capital.
>>
Not really, your wealth increases in the form of cheaper and better goods even if you don't investyour own capital. Furthermore, everyone can be an investor, that's not a special class of person.

Wait what? Seriously? Post some source coz that is just dumb as fuck

And yes of coz neoliberalism is designed for capitalists to throw capital around coz it was made by them. Have we all forgotten 08?

Capital gains tax vs income tax for one.

This is philosophy.

Not entirely true. The neoliberal system lets you fall behind if you are outcompeted and makes it very, very difficult to climb out of poverty. If you are 100% rational from the age of 6 you can surely get out of any situation, but attitude is a form of inherited capital like any other. You can't just change your behaviours out of the blue unless you are some genius or were raised with adaptivity and reason as a primary value. And these are not prevalent in poor environments. It's a vicious circle.

Also, not everyone can invest capital. It is easy to overlook how little or practically none can be saved from a poor man's salary, especially in poorer countries.

You seem upset.

Absolutely.

Neoliberalism is savage capitalism wearing a more humane mask. It masquerading as "leftish" is simply a way differentiate itself from traditional forms of capitalism and siphon votes from whoever would like a left-wing alternative to the current system. It's perfidious as fuck in that it accepts and even "rewards" opposition to the system, even its own, through social capital. It creates a population complacent and self-satisfied in their own exploitation, it's absolutely disgusting.

You're not wrong about that, but I think the obvious solution here is to make personal finance a required part of a basic education, rather than crippling the world economy with protectionism or whatever.

That is true, but it isn't really the source of our problems. Yes there are people who really have no choice but to live paycheck to paycheck, but they are vastly outnumbered by those who simply don't know how to not. People at all income levels tend to live above their means, and that is the real problem. And if they didn't, we could easily afford the social safety nets for those in genuine need.
