The Crip Nation began in America in 1969.

They have their own customs, language in the form of swahili, laws and even a constitution.

There were many examples of proto-narionalism in Europe, specially Greece, they even defined the term of nation there. But across Europe you had the Gauls in France, you had the Lusitanians in Portugal, etc.

In truth, nationalism is based on the idea of national sovereignty and self-government: the idea that the nation is what creates the country and rules it, rather than king, god, priests or whatever. It literally didn't exist in that form before 18th/19th centuries.
