What do you mean? They used that school of thought to win WWII, then there was never another total war. I'm not sure "deep battle" had a chance to develop with any war a super power nation has been in since, considering that they're always stuck to a support role or they defeat the conventional enemy super fast and deal with insurgents forever so no front lines to go deep behind.

because this mattered when the mongols conquered the Chinese with something like half their number if that, or when a certain tea company(not even the official military a literal company) pretty much conquered china, or after that when a tiny little island pretty much conquered China and would have continued to do so without western influence.

But now, in an age where technology is king and numbers mean less than they ever have, Chinese people and their dick riders actually believe that numbers are going to matter against virtually any western military when clearly that's never worked out well for them and in the modern era it's only going to be worse for them with aircraft carriers and stealth bombers and drones and all that fun stuff. The United States could probably neutralize the entire Chinese military in a week by strategically bombing and destroying their ability to wage war. The Chinese are a paper tiger, make them bleed and they turn on each other, fight civil wars, and fracture whatever unity that peace allowed.
