What are some respectable, /his/-approved podcasts or internet shows?
hardcore history
history of rome
revolutions
the history of the crusades
history of china
12 byzantine rulers
These are some pretty popular, generally well liked and recieved ones. The history of Rome is finished now but has great 20-30 minute episodes on the entire history of Rome from kingdom=>republic=>empire
Revolutions is pretty self explanatory and a new series has been started just this week so now would be a good time to jump on
The Great War is bretty gud.

I've been following History Extra podcast for years now, but I think their format leaves room for improvement.
Still, glad to see it's held in good esteem.
I've been following the Romance of the Three Kingdoms Podcast for a few months now, I feel it's accessible enough, yet I've never seen it mentioned around here.
Not reading your history in books like a patrician but learning everything via oral tradition/podcast like a pre-industrial plebian.

A lot of old documentaries are really good compared to modern youtube historians and history channel nonsense.

Yale's public youtube channel also has some interesting stuff:
Both of these are primarily about France, there's a lot of overlap if you watch them both : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vK73R51rwU&list=PLMptTpi3a4bdqk56cdO-6q_siFAhESUWp / https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IgKHHAjV8Y&list=PL3A8E6CE294860A24

Who is this handsome warlord, and why did he unironically do nothing wrong?

>but I think their format leaves room for improvement.
how so? I think the guests are always good and the discussions are very long with no disruptions of the speaker usually. a lot of the historians are more pop-oriented but not always and even the former know their stuff. i do get annoyed that they focus on mostly british history, with the tudors done to death on their podcast.

love this guy. squares in 4k, what an absolute madman

the romans usually read latin out loud. also book readings were the stuff of salons and a good way of discussing the news in poor and working class families when only one person could read. the fact that it was a social occasion is patrician in spirit. also
>not having your servant read to you while you're going to sleep
gtfo pleb

That's a bit needlessly rude, is it not?

it was sarcasm, anon...
Bump, for interest.
