This kinda falls into the same shaky territory as Evola's ideas about Aryan Buddhism. It is most likely that Bodhidharma did not exist as an actual historical figure but was a composite of the teachers of the time, and reflective of the spread of ideas. Historical accounts on the Buddha's actual appearance are mostly unreliable - the same sources that describe him as a light skinned person will also describe kings with ten heads. It's not far fetched to assume that he was good looking, as powerful historical figures tend to be, and that there were variations in skin tones between castes and he could belong to a lighter skinned family, but I really think this whole thing reeks of racist nonsense. The actual Buddhist teachings don't concern skin color in the least,

True. In the very same sutta where the Buddha says that people with dark skin were considered demons, he says that even them can be students of the Buddha. In fact, the Buddha is called the teacher of gods and men, and, it is assumed, also demons, as every being can reach enlightenment if he sincerely strives for it. There is a continuum between gods, men, ghosts and demons. We can infer that the dark races are further on the side of the demonic, and the lighter, on the divine side of the spectrum.

It's undeniable fact that the Chinese tried to Sinify Buddhism and at the very least, mask its Indo-Aryan origins.
