>suicide is selfish

suicide is the pinnacle of the faith in a self
Suicide is termination of the self. Kind of a weird thing to say.

>you should endure your suicidal suffering because I would feel bad if you died
How is the suicidal the selfish one?
My father killed himself when I was a teenager and I don't think he was being selfish doing it.
At least he did it away from home and not in a public place for other people to see, that I would consider selfish. I suppose in third world countries or for poor people it'd be far worse since life would become far more difficult so it's a bit selfish although people shouldn't be made to suffer when they're willing to end their lives.

Do you know why he did it?

30 years of depression trying every anti-depressant available with little success
19 years of inoperable back pain
traumatic childhood, shit son and anxiety regarding his work going under.
I just hope that Christianity and islam is false otherwise he's not resting in peace.
It is not inherently selfish, but it usually is. Most people have obligations to others. And most suicides do it in ways that unnecessarily hurt others.

>shit son
That must feel tough. Almost makes me feel glad my dad generally doesn't give two fucks about me so he isn't particularly bothered by my failings.

>For it is clear that if no one has a private right to kill even a guilty man (and no law allows this), then certainly anyone who kills himself is a murderer, and is the more guilty in killing himself the more innocent he is of the charge on which he has condemned himself to death.
-Augustine
Doesn't pertain to selfishness but something to think about.
