Turns out living in prosperity to the point where there is no longer a struggle to survive makes us so bored and self loathing that we kill ourselves.

Our minds evolved to live a certain way. As far as i can figure, we either abandon civilization as a failed experiment and return to bands of hunter gatherers, or we change our nature. One seems more likley than the other.
