The Christianization of Rome and north Europe is actually an incredibly fascinating subject, even outside of the study of religion itself. Also mediterraneans aren't black you dumb shit, you're thinking of West Africans and saudis.

The real answer is that it was the infrastructure of Rome that allowed for culture to spread unilaterally throughout the former empire's territory and beyond, as well as the sovereignty and recognition that being christian brought to leaders which led them to increasingly support expansion of churches, observation of christian events, etc. to their subjects. Also the work of devoted missionaries who saw it as their holy duty to live peacefully among pagan cultures and plant the seeds of acceptance very early on
