Siimilarly, if good and evil are all god cares about, pro one and presumably anti the other, then why does mediocrity exist?

Atheist don't have to square the circle of omnipotent, omniscient and fully benevolent being ruling over the world full of evil and suffering. "Shit happens" is good enough explanation for them.
