yeah hes got some really interesting talks listen to his shorter ones first then if you like, just on his longer ones
just fun voices to listen to while you get high
I like what he has to say about worrying. Kinda helped me and I listen to it with some regularity. I don't know much about him really though.

I hate him personally. None of what he says has much substance. Like woah man, somethingness depends on nothingness to exist. If you want to listen to a guy who made a living giving talks about his philosophy on life, I'd recommend Terence McKenna instead. Granted Terence McKenna was completely wrong about pretty much every concrete claim he made, but his ideas were at least interesting and fun to listen to.

Also this. He has some interesting things to say but they're basically just introducing eastern philosophy to a western audience. I can see how he would have been seen as a guru-type back in the day when people weren't familiar with this stuff but had a huge appetite for it in the west, but nowadays what with the increased familiarity towards eastern philosophies it's sort of trite.
I think he's great and he's one of the few buddhist/taoist writers that cuts straight to the point in a helpful way.
I recommend "become what you are". He has some great interpretations of Christian ideas too.

People like Watts and McKenna can be seen as guardians for your personal journey. I personally like Joseph Campbell too, but Watts is a great philosopher too.
In shamanistic practice, it is commonly known that before undertaking spiritual adventure into the unknown, a guardian will equip the newly initiated Shaman with something to protect him/her on their quest. That is how I see Alan and Terence. They both experienced their "eschaton," as Terence would put it, so now it is on you if you answer the call of the spirits that have so obviously reached out to you and experience your own. IMO: Alan sort of dances around the point as the joker character, Terence directs you toward the point as a psychic mad scientist character.
If you seek to use these men and their ideas empirically, tread carefully....

He's interesting, but you're better off going straight to the sources. Watts draws from many different religions and it's fun to listen to him, but I wouldn't advise taking everything he says at face value since he picks and chooses which parts to merge together.
