Yes, I can see why a Labor supporter would be upset. But if he was ahead in the polls he clearly would have called an election. He was behind, and he tried to game the system to stay in power and buy some time, and it backfired.

If only there was some sort of mechanism directly built into the constitution for when a bill is repeatably blocked by the Senate, that has been used multiple times by many governments, most recently less than 12 months ago
