>Those who are ignorant of the past are doomed to repeat it
Is this true, /his/?
>>2440902
Yes, but the past repeats itself regardless.

Operation Barbarossa.
those who are knowledgeable of the past are doomed to watch people who are ignorant of the past repeat it
>>2440924
This. Learning about the past doesn't help you avoid repeating it, it just makes you aware of the fact that it is repeating.

History doesn't repeat, but it does rhyme.
Ironically those who are knowledge about the past repeat it anyway because they think they can do better, then fail.
Oscar Wilde had a good quote on this
>History does not repeat itself. The historians repeat each other.

damn...

Not entirely. It's true that history repeats itself but we don't shape it, it shapes us.
When, for example, all the resources of this planet are used up, we will consequently go back to the ways of the olden days, assuming we don't wipe ourselves out beforehand in one last glorious, or not so glorious spark.
So yes, history does, and will keep on repeating itself.
>History does repeat itself. First time it is a tragedy, second time, it's farse.
