This is just blatantly incorrect. Scandinavia was one of those places where populations boomed continually every century. The Nordic race originated in Scandinavia, over half of Europe used to be Nordic and many parts of Europe still are. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone within any country of Europe who doesn't have Scandinavian DNA from some migration sometimes in the past.
Wood is better than stone. They built stone houses, they just didn't build good stone houses.They didn't even invent the sail on their own, they needed to come into contact with Romans to understand the sail, before that they rowed large canoes.
