Why did Russia never colonize The Americas or Africa?

But they did.
They owned Alaska, and sold it because it was dead weight at the time, and it's better to get some money for it than giving it up to the British.
They also held a town in California.
IIRC they tried to take Djibouti (or some place in that area), but not having direct access they got beat by the French.
Because they colonized the entire of northern and central Asia.
More is not better OP. If you have a bunch of colonies but you can't keep them secure they are just a liability. Russia has the strength of being a transcontinental nation, like the US. It doesn't really need anymore territory, it's got its hands full with what it already has. And what it can't get or produce on its own it can do business with/go to war with someone that has it.
>The Americas
Alaska and Fort Ross
>Africa
No easy access to the Mediterranean and Africa

Because Russia had a weak Navy to maintain this global trade, and little to gain.

>What is Alaska

Russia built a fort on Kauai (then part of the Kingdom of Hawaii) of all places.
>>2420789
Building a fort isn't even close to the same thing as colonizing.

To busy colonizing asia
