I'm talking marches from fiction that are historical marches, the point is to compare them to actual ones.

Marches are a very specific kind of music. They have a regular, steady cadence, they do not vary in speed or rhythm, they are often written centred around percussion. They are not written to sound dramatic, exciting, or even fast (marches are never particularly fast, they are designed to be marched to). They are also generally written with accompanying lyrics, as their steady cadence lends itself very well to song and chant.

I know, but those are two marches that every pleb on this board has probably heard before and will recognise the sound of.

Plus they're both (unlike the Koeniggratzer and others) very simple marches, very heavy on the percussion, to illustrate what the base of a march is.
