Is there any significant difference between the state of nirvana/paranirvana in Buddhism and moksha in the Jain and Hindu traditions?

In Buddhism it is an extinguishing of one's karma from going through further rebirths, while in most other Dharmic faiths it is the realization that the Atman and the Brahman are unified. Buddhists don't believe in Atman, so for us it is attained after perfect knowledge of the Four Noble Truths.

I might be wrong in some respects, others feel free to correct me.

But moksha also entails the cessation of samsara.

Then I guess the only difference is unity with the Brahman vs extinguishing

Unity with the Brahman is described looking into your soul and realizing it's synonymous with God. Nirvana is the blowing out of karma between rebirths, although Buddhists do not believe there is any real soul or self to begin with.
Some have also posited that the state of the formless beings above devas, attained by meditation, is synonymous with enlightenment, but this is not a mainstream Buddhist view. More important is the note that Buddhism posits devas and such as being trapped in samsara just like humans, I don't think Hinduism does, although the Upanishads mention a God being weakened before he knew his soul.

Personally there isn't a whole lot. It really depends on whose selling it. Your either going to get those who believe in oneness with everything, with God, or even ascension to a form of God hood or whatever. Not sure on the Jains though, I've read very little on them I'm afraid.

I'm ok with that. I tend to follow Tantric ideals and I don't mind worshiping this as a form of Shiva.
